Police treat Black man like Wild Game hunting trophy #FDP

The Chicago Police Department fought in court to keep the photograph from going public. Today, it will likely be seen by millions of people online.
The photograph, first published late Tuesday night, depicts two white police officers posing with rifles kneeling over a black man on his stomach wearing deer antlers. One of the officers is grinning, and the other has a hand around the man’s throat.
Chicago Police Officers Jerome Finnigan, left, and Timothy McDermott, right, with an unidentified man.
Attorneys for the Chicago police asked Cook County’s Judge Thomas Allen to keep the photo under seal, in order to protect the privacy of the man with the antlers above his head; his identity remains a mystery, at least for now.
Allen denied the request in March, and after the newspaper deliberated extensively over whether or not to publish the photo, it’s now being widely shared with the public for the first time.
Unlike the man whom police claim was a criminal suspect, the officers in the photo, which is believed to have been taken between 1999 and 2003, have long been identified.
Former Officer Jerome Finnigan is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence. He was once the leader of Chicago’s notorious Special Operations Section, members of which were found guilty in 2011 of numerous civil rights violations, including the theft of up to $600,000.
Detective Timothy McDermott, who was also assigned to the unit around the time the photograph was taken but not implicated in its criminal activities, was fired last year by a disciplinary board in a 5-4 vote related to the photograph above. He’s since appealed the decision.
During an interview with an internal affairs officer, McDermott reportedly claimed that he couldn’t remember when the photo was taken or anything about the man with the antlers.
“I do remember an incident where I took a photo with Finnigan, and it appears that this is it,” McDermott said. “Finnigan called me over, told me to get in the picture, and I sat in the picture. The photo was taken, and I went back to the business I was doing that day.”
It’s unknown whether the man with the antlers was forced to take part in the photograph or if he did so willingly. Neither the police nor the journalists who’ve investigated the event have turned up any clues. It’s possible further details will be revealed after the image is shared across the Web.
“The fact that a police officer who was involved in the incident now wants his job back is reason enough to run the photograph,” Jim Kirk
, wrote in a separate article about why his paper decided to publish the photo. “... For us to hold the photo back would have been no more defensible than the police holding it back.”
“This photograph will offend people, as it offends us,” Kirk continued. “We also know it can be a tool to raise the level of constructive discourse to make our city better. In the end, that’s what the residents of this great city and this newspaper all want.”
The photo is problematic, to put it lightly and Chicago Police Department reportedly wasn’t too keen on the public seeing it, however a Cook County judge refused to keep the photo sealed.

The image in question shows two white officers--Jerome Finnigan and Timothy McDermott--in plain clothes holding hunting rifles posing with a black suspect who is lying on his stomach, his tongue stuck out and his eyes rolled upwards with deer antlers on his head.
According to the Sun-Times, the photo is believed to have been taken in a West Side police station sometime between 1999 and 2003. Federal prosecutors turned the photo over to the city in 2013, which ultimately resulted in McDermott being fired in 2014 on a police board vote of 5-4. Majority voters declared that “appearing to treat an African-American man not as a human being but as a hunted animal is disgraceful and shocks the conscience.”
McDermott is appealing his termination, according to the news site. McDermott’s lawyer as well as lawyers for the police department had requested that the photo be kept sealed, claiming to want to protect the privacy of the unidentified suspect. However, Judge Thomas Allen refused.
The report notes that the photo first surfaced after federal prosecutors turned over the photo in 2013. Two years before, Finnigan was sentenced to 12 year for leading rouge cops in robberies, home invasions and other crimes, the Sun-Times reports.
Police Supt. Garry McCarthy, who moved to have McDermott fired, slammed the photo as “disgusting.
“The despicable actions of these two former officers have no place in our police department or in our society. As the superintendent of this department, and as a resident of our city, I will not tolerate this kind of behavior, and that is why neither of these officers works for CPD today,” McCarthy said in a blistering statement to the news site.
“I fired one of the officers and would have fired the other if he hadn’t already been fired by the time I found out about the picture. Our residents deserve better than this, as do the thousands of good men and women in this department.”

Maine woman runs down sex offender boyfriend after finding him sexually assaulting girl, 12

A drunken Maine woman ran down her sex offender boyfriend with her car after she found the perv sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl, according to cops.
James Oliver, 48, was hospitalized with a serious leg injury after the ruckus broke out late Saturday in the rural Lincoln County town of Nobleboro, Maine, authorities said.
It was girlfriend Linda Currier, 53, who got behind the wheel to take her vengeance on Oliver after she caught him sexually assaulting the 12-year-old girl inside the home around 11:30 p.m., the Lincoln COunty Sheriff’s office said.
Currier was busted for DUI and aggravated assault and later released, while Oliver was hospitalized and booked Monday on charges of attempted gross sexual unlawful sexual touching and failing to comply with the sex offender registry by not updating his address.

He’d previously been convicted rape and sexual abuse of a minor. The 12-year-old girl was not hospitalized and was taken into custody by her family, cops said.

'Sweetest murderer' found guilty of shooting two Oregon men, feeding bodies to pigs

Jurors spent only about an hour deliberating Tuesday before convicting an Oregon woman of killing two handymen and feeding their corpses to her pigs.
The Jackson County jury found Susan Monica guilty of murdering two men about a year apart, then abusing their corpses by feeding them to the animals at her farm, The Medford Mail Tribune reported (http://is.gd/Ltq4ap ).
Circuit Judge Tim Barnack immediately sentenced Monica to a minimum 50 years in prison.

“You shot two people and fed them to your pigs,” the judge told Monica, 66. “I don’t know how else I can put it. You valued pigs more than you value people.
“It may sound harsh, but you are a cold-blooded killer,” Barnack said.
Prosecutors said Stephen Delicino, 59, was killed in 2012 and Robert Haney, 56, died in 2013.
Monica asked for sentencing as soon as the jury was dismissed, saying “it doesn’t seem to matter.”
The case will be appealed, the defense said.
Monica’s changing stories about how she shot Delicino and Haney never matched the forensic evidence, Allan Smith, senior assistant deputy district attorney, told jurors in closing arguments.
She variously claimed that Delicino shot himself repeatedly in the head and also that she shot him in self-defense and he was eaten by her pigs before she buried his remains on her 20-acre farm in southern Oregon, Smith reminded jurors.
Monica told investigators Haney disappeared in the summer of 2013. She said she came on him a month later as pigs were disemboweling him, and she shot him to ease his suffering. She later questioned whether he was alive when she shot him.
Defense attorney Garren Pedemonte argued there was no concrete evidence to rebut Monica’s claims that she shot Delicino in self-defense or to show that Haney was actually alive when Monica shot him. Some of his remains were found in plastic bags in her barn.
A State Police forensic anthropologist, Veronica Vance, testified that Haney’s legs had been chopped off with an ax, and the thigh bones showed signs of being gnawed by an animal.
Vance said she couldn’t determine whether the ax blows came before or after Haney died. She said Delicino suffered three to four gunshot wounds to the head, but there was no evidence one way or another about the self-defense claim.
“Just because Susan Monica is different and strange and weird doesn’t make her a murderer,” another defense lawyer, Christine Herbert, told the jury.
At one point during the six-day trial, Monica herself cross-examined sheriff’s Detective Eric Henderson, who was the lead investigator in the case, despite having her own defense team.
On Monday, a cellmate of Monica’s testified the defendant signed a birthday card in jail with this phrase: “from the sweetest murderer in Jackson County.”
“I got chills from the birthday card,” 23-year-old inmate Jordan “Janae” Farris testified. Farris was serving time for violating probation from a burglary conviction and met Monica in the Jackson County Jail.
Monica said she signed the card in accordance with the charges she was facing, KDRV-TV reported.
As the judge addressed the jury before deliberations Tuesday, the newspaper reported that Monica stood up, raised her hand and began asking for the chance to give jurors one more demonstration on how she claimed she shot Delicino.
“I’d like to demonstrate how I shot him for 10 seconds,” Monica said.
Barnack initially ignored her. Then Monica put her hands in the air, as she did in her earlier testimony from the stand, and said, “I held the gun like this.”
At that, the judge ordered her back to jail and sheriff’s deputies took her away.

Ohio prostitue castrates man after offer of $13 for sex

An Ohio woman castrated a man who had picked her up for a “date” after he had only $13 to pay for sex, police said.
The unidentified woman made off with the cash after she slashed the man in the scrotum early Monday, according to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office records show.
The man is expected to survive the serious injury.
The ordeal began when the unidentified man was cruising home along North Main Street in Dayton, Ohio when a woman walking along “asked him for a ride,”. He agreed, but told the woman he first needed to stop at his home on Carter Avenue.
Once there, the two went down to the basement, where the woman asked if the man wanted to make their rendezvous into a “date,”
But when he offered up only $13 dollars, she ordered him at knifepoint to drop his pants. Once he did, she stabbed him in the crotch, then left.
After she was gone, the man was able to crawl upstairs and ask his sleeping sister to take him to Good Samaritan Hospital.
No arrest was reported.

Convicted British sex attacker is castrated, sentenced to 7 years in prison

Paul Catterall was sentenced Friday to seven years in prison for attacking an 18-year-old woman in the U.K. — and was also castrated to treat testicular cancer. A British sex criminal jailed for a terrifying alleyway assault on a defenseless young woman has been castrated in prison after being diagnosed with testicular cancer.
Paul Catterall was sentenced to seven years behind bars after the savage cocaine-fueled attack on an 18-year-old woman in Bolton in July 2014, reports The Bolton News.
The 24-year-old had initially tried to kiss the teen.
But when she rejected him, he violently pulled her hair before launching into the brutal sexual assault.
His victim said that the violation had left her too scared to leave her own house.
"This person has completely destroyed my life. I feel like a prisoner in my own home," she said in a victim impact statement to Bolton Crown Court.
Catterall pleaded guilty to assault by penetration at a hearing in November.
During sentencing Friday, it emerged that Catterall was diagnosed with testicular cancer while he was on remand. His genitals were amputated.
Family friends of his victim said he had got what he deserved.
"It's apt that he did this, and has now had his testicles removed," one pal told Metro. "He is a brute and a monster," she added.
Another friend told The Bolton News: "I hope he rots. He should have been hung for what he did."
Catterall was previously convicted for putting his hand up a woman's skirt in 2009.

Nail clippers used to free bound woman after 5 days of sex assaults

A hero Canadian dog walker was able to save a bound, nearly naked woman from her armed attacker after he freed the woman by using nail clippers to cut through the bindings made of cloth and tape, authorities say.
The 27-year-old sex worker was able to escape her snoozing captor’s Toronto home Easter Sunday morning after five days of horror, during which she was subjected to bizarre, ritualistic sexual assaults at the hands of 43-year-old Rejean Hermel Perron, police say.
The disturbing crime may have ended differently if not for Peter Hamilton, who happened to be walking his 4-month-old yellow Labrador retriever puppy down the street in the Leslieville neighborhood when he heard the victim’s distraught cries of, “Help me, help me please.”
"Without having that dog, I wouldn't have taken a walk through the neighborhood,".
Hamilton found the nearly naked woman out on the home’s porch, having wriggled down the stairs without waking the sleeping Perron, who was armed with a gun and knife.
The woman had been handcuffed and had crude bindings on her arms and legs. Bruises covered much of her body.
"She had managed to get to the door,". "She said, 'I've been kidnapped and I've been held for five days in this house.' My first thought was 'How do I get her out of here?'"
Hamilton had not brought his cell phone for the short jaunt and had only a pair of nail clippers in his pocket. He used the tool to tear through the bindings, trying to comfort the terrified woman as best he could.
Rejean Perron, 43, was arrested by Toronto Police for the kidnapping and sexual assaults. Authorities believe Perron may have more victims. "I knew this was a dangerous situation," Hamilton told the CBC. "I couldn't leave her, but I could not go back to my house to get my phone."
The commotion apparently woke Perron, who came to the front door and stared at the two people on his front porch.
"This is where it could have taken a turn for the worse,". "He came out and he ran. He saw us and he just ran and that was a very good thing."
Cops were later able to catch up with Perron, who remains jailed on a charges of sex assault with a weapon, kidnapping, forcible confinement and assault.
The suspect has spent the last decade in Toronto but previously lived in other towns, cops said. Authorities fear he may have more victims and specifically preyed on sex workers.
The humble Hamilton, for his part, says he did what any person would.
“It's just the right thing to do,". "We live in a society where sometimes people turn a blind eye to what's going on around them."

13-year old, shoots 6-year-old brother dead, injures 16-year old brother & kills self after food fight

A dinnertime quarrel between three unsupervised brothers in Florida turned deadly when one of the boys got a gun.
A 13-year-old boy shot two of his brothers — killing one of them — and then killed himself Wednesday during the dinner-table fight over food, deputies said.
The teen shot and killed his 6-year-old brother, shot and injured his 16-year-old brother and then turned the gun on himself inside the family's Hudson mobile home Wednesday, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said.
"This is a nightmare when you hear about the ages of these boys," Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco. "A 6-year-old that was probably playing in his room, an argument over food and he lost his life."
The boys' mom and their 18-year-old brother were not at home when the brothers sat down to dinner around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
When the three started fighting over the meal, the 13-year-old got a handgun and started shooting, deputies said.
The injured 16-year-old called 911 to report the shooting at the Sugar Lane Mobile Home Park. He posted about the attack on social media as he waited for first responders, deputies said. He is expected to recover.
Investigators are working to determine how the teen got the gun.
The three brothers have not been identified.

Woman Shoots Herself in the Head While Shooting Selfie

Selfie Shot in the head
A Russian woman who was trying to take selfie while posing with a gun accidentally shot herself in the head according to Moscow police.
According to Russian news agencies, a 21-year-old employee, now in serious condition, took the 9mm pistol left by a security guard on the premises of the company that employs them in order to pose with the weapon for a selfie.
But, holding the pistol in one hand and the smartphone with other, she accidentally pressed the trigger, shooting herself at close range in the head. The accident occurred Thursday and was confirmed Friday by the police, according to Interfax.
The young woman is in a “serious condition” in a Moscow hospital, said the agency Ria Novosti.
Police said the security guard had left his gun at the workplace two weeks before going on holiday. The police are trying to determine how the victim managed to get a hold of the gun.

Trooper ripped up tickets in exchange for sex... sentenced to five years in prison

Bryan Lee, 31, was sentenced to five years in jail for coercing women he pulled over into having sex with him in exchange for not issuing traffic tickets. A former Ohio state trooper who admitted to coercing four women into sex acts if he looked the other way on traffic tickets was sentenced to five years in prison Thursday.
Bryan D. Lee, 31, admitted he had sex with four women during his eight year career in law enforcement  and some of his victims were sexually assaulted while they were under arrest and handcuffed.
The disgraced cop pleaded guilty to four counts of violating the civil rights of female motorists and one count of engaging in cyber stalking in October.
Lee admitted in court that he coerced the four women into sex acts on the condition he would not file criminal charges or write traffic tickets against his victims or their friends. Authorities said he also harassed and threatened some of the victims, including sending a threatening electronic messages to one woman he pulled over twice in one month.
"Saw you at the fair, Pink Sweatshirt," he wrote the victim on Facebook. "You not even going to talk to me?"
The charges also included Lee asking one woman he pulled over if he could take a topless picture of her. He then had sex with her by an abandoned gas station after he tore up the traffic ticket. He also allowed motorists who appeared to be drunk to drive off without an arrest.
Police launched an investigation after reviewing dashcam footage of multiple stops. Lee's conversations did not appear to be work related, authorities said.
The investigation was started two years after a woman complained that Lee turned off his body microphone during a stop, groped her breasts while she was handcuffed and rubbed his genitals against her. The woman issued a complaint but police sided with Lee and considered filing charges against her for making false statements, it was reported.

Life for Philadelphia man convicted in killing a special needs student over Beats headphones

Massey's $200 headphones were found on the street after the shooting.
A 21-year-old Philadelphia man convicted of killing a “gentle giant” over a pair of $300 Beats by Dr. Dre headphones was sentenced to life in prison without parole on Thursday.
Arkel Garcia was sentenced Thursday after a February hearing was stopped when he and tried to grab the gun of a deputy sheriff.
Jurors convicted Garcia of second-degree murder in the November 2013 shooting death of 21-year-old Christian Massey.
"That's what we wanted," Assistant District Attorney Brendan O'Malley said.

"We did this with a multitude of sheriffs. There was no emotional testimony. We just wanted to get the sentence, to get justice for Chris Massey, and that's what happened here."
Massey, who once attended a special needs school, told police before losing consciousness at a hospital that someone grabbed his new headphones and he was shot after trying to grab them back. The headphones, which cost at least $300, were left on the street. Prosecutors say Garcia told detectives eight days later that he and two men planned to rob Massey, but he had no idea Massey would be killed.
He said he wasn’t the gunman. Garcia’s lawyer has argued that he had nothing to do with the crime.

Jealous South African man pours super glue into wife's vagina

A jealous South African husband poured super glue into his wife's vagina after becoming convinced that she was sleeping with her uncle.
The 45-year-old man allegedly locked his 40-year-old spouse in the bedroom at their home in the village of Ngwamtila, near Bushbuckridge.
He reportedly pointed a machete at his wife and ordered her to strip naked.
After threatening to chop her head off if she didn't obey, he then forced open her legs to apply the adhesive to her genitals.
"I looked at him with horror and tears streaming down my face. I do not know what would make a man who loves a woman do that to her,".
The victim managed to remove some of the glue following the sickening attack.
But she was left scarred for life and believes that the pain she now constantly suffers means she will never be able to have sex again.
Her husband fled after the horrific March 2013 assault and has never faced charges.
The woman has finally told her story, two years after the attack, in a bid to track down her husband so he can face justice.
"I wanted to press charges but he fled and has not been seen since the incident. I am scared that he might come back anytime and remove my head,"

2 Mississippi women sentenced to prison for roles in hate crime plot to assault blacks

Two women who were part of a group that repeatedly searched Mississippi's capital city for black people to assault were sentenced Thursday to multiple years in federal prison.
U.S. District Judge Henry T. Wingate on Thursday sentenced Shelbie Brooke Richards of Pearl to eight years in prison on one count each of conspiracy to commit a hate crime and concealing the crime by lying to police.
In a separate hearing earlier Thursday, Wingate also sentenced Sarah Adelia Graves of Crystal Springs to five years in prison for one count of conspiracy to commit a hate crime.
Both women were riding in a truck that ran over James Craig Anderson in June 2011. Anderson died after being beaten and run over.
Six white men, sentenced earlier by a different judge, received prison terms ranging from four to 50 years for Anderson's death. Two more men await sentencing after Thursday's hearings.
Both Richards and Graves have acknowledged that they helped recruit people at a birthday party to take part in the venture that eventually led to Anderson's death. Richards admitted that she encouraged Deryl Paul Dedmon to assault Anderson when they arrived in a hotel parking lot, and then yelled a racial slur and encouraged Dedmon to run over Anderson when Dedmon returned to the truck.
Hotel surveillance video obtained by The Associated Press and other media outlets shows a Ford truck back up and then lunge forward at 5:05 a.m. Anderson's shirt is illuminated in the headlights before he disappears under the vehicle next to the curb.
Richards also acknowledged that later that month she lied to Jackson police detectives about the incident and her participation.
The 10 defendants have pleaded guilty to other racially motivated attacks, including the beating of a black man near a Jackson golf course, the beating of another man who tried to sell the suburbanites drugs, attacks on pedestrians using beer bottles and a slingshot, and an attempt to run down another black man.
Prosecutors said the suspects usually sought out people who were homeless or drunk. Other than Anderson, the black people who were assaulted have not been identified.

Arizona mom tells police 'shit happens’ after causing car crash that killed 5 year old child

An Arizona woman being arrested for a car crash that killed a 5-year-old child had two words to say when informed that the boy had died: "shit happens."
Those callous words were recorded by Glendale police officers while booking 24-year-old Aaronessa Keaton behind bars Monday for charges including manslaughter for last year's collision.

Court documents show that the Phoenix woman, who gave birth to a premature baby girl via C-section shortly after the Feb. 28, 2014 crash, was found with marijuana and sedatives in her system.
Those drugs were also found in her newborn's system.
What was a joyful ending for Keaton, however, was a nightmare for the other family that wasn't as lucky.
Authorities say Keaton first side-swiped an oncoming sedan before plowing almost head-on into an oncoming pickup truck.
Inside that vehicle, a 5-year-old boy was killed while a second child was injured.
In January charges were filed against the new mom for manslaughter, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and five counts of endangerment.

Teen rapist arrested in last year’s death of Oregon woman

Three weeks before a 17-year-old raped a woman during a juvenile detention field trip to an Oregon Ducks game in Eugene last year, he allegedly stabbed his neighbor to death, local reports said.
The case’s prosecutor had suspected Jaimie Tinoco’s rape and kidnapping of the 39-year-old woman on the University of Oregon campus followed other serious crimes, but until this week it wasn’t clear what.
The teen reportedly confessed to Nicole Laube’s death shortly after a judge sentenced the teen to 14 years behind bars in a hearing where Tinoco struggled to conceal a smirk throughout the victim’s testimony.
Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Tinoco on Wednesday morning at the facility where he’s serving his sentence after pleading guilty.
The husband of a woman killed outside a Cedar Mill apartment complex said he will not give the 17-year-old murder suspect the satisfaction of seeing the pain he has caused.
Instead, Chris Laube said he will stay strong for everyone who loved his wife, Nicole Laube.
Jaime Tinoco was indicted and arrested for Nicole Laube's murder Wednesday.
Tinoco, 17, is the same teen convicted of brutally beating and raping a mother of two outside of Autzen Stadium last fall.
For more than seven months, deputies have searched all over the region for Nicole Laube's killer. Turns out, Tinoco lived with his family in an apartment right across the street from where she was killed.
Deputies say Nicole Laube was working at the Commons at Timber Creek Apartment complex in Cedar Mill when she was stabbed to death on Aug. 19th of last year.
Deputies say it appears she was killed in a completely random act of violence.
News of Tinoco's arrest is still sinking in for Chris Laube. He once feared detectives would never make an arrest in this case at all.
“It's mixed emotions you know, you want to jump up and scream out of excitement, and then there's shock,” said Chris Laube. “It took me a day of pinching myself trying to figure out if I was awake. You wonder if it's real, so much so you almost want to call the detectives back and say, ‘did you really call me?'”
“He was on a path, something must have happened for him to go from minor things one day, to murder, that's some rage,” added Chris Laube.
Weeks after Nicole Laube's murder, Tinoco attacked a woman in Eugene.
The teen, who was in juvenile detention months before this, was at an Oregon Ducks football game with a group of several other youth offenders when it happened.
He was supposed to be under the supervision of Washington County, but prosecutors say he escaped from the group.
Prosecutors say he followed a woman along MLK Boulevard and attacked her from behind. He dragged her into some bushes and used a rock wall as a barrier while he violently punched her some 20 times in the face and then raped her.
Soon after the rape, he was arrested.
Tinoco pleaded guilty in that case last week and was sentenced to more than 14 years behind bars.
Throughout the victim's testimony in that sentencing, Tinoco was caught trying to hold back a smile. When a judge asked him why he was smiling, Tinoco told the judge he did not know.
The Lane County district attorney says it was the most heinous and brutal sexual assault without a weapon he's ever prosecuted.
“He's off the street for a long time, and I'm thankful for that,” said Chris Laube. “We don't have to hear another story about this happening to someone else, I just can't imagine that. If he would have gotten away, this would happen again in another week, or two weeks, another woman would be harmed by him.”
Multiple sources close to the investigation confirm that right after his sentencing in the Eugene case, Tinoco confessed to Nicole Laube's murder. He admitted to things only the killer would know.
Soon after he confessed, Washington County detectives arrested Tinoco.
Chris Laube says he's now preparing for the day he will face him in court.
“You know what, I'm going to be strong, that's the one commitment I've had. I'm not going to give him the privilege to smile and laugh, I'm not going to give him that same privilege to know he hurt me, he took a wife, a daughter, a mother a sister, a friend to a lot of people, he took that away,” said Chris Laube. “But, in the end, I'm not going to give him that satisfaction to see that hurt and pain. I will stay strong for the kids, for the family, for the community, he doesn't deserve that satisfaction.”
“He was on a path, something must have happened for him to go from minor things one day, to murder. That’s some rage,” the dead victim’s husband, Chris Laube said.
Tinoco is now charged with aggravated murder and unlawful use of a weapon in connection to Laube’s death.
The 29-year-old was found dead on Aug. 19 across the road from where Tinoco's family lived at a Beaverton apartment complex.
Detectives questioned Tinoco within days of his August arrest on Laube’s death, but were unable to develop enough evidence to connect him until after his sentencing.
It’s believed Tinoco planned to sexually assault her like he did with the second victim.

Boy kills friend trying to wake him

A Montana boy startled at being awakened in the middle of the night fired a shot through his bedroom window and killed the 15-year-old friend who had been knocking and throwing pebbles at his window, police said Monday.
Billings police officers found the teen with a gunshot wound to his head early Sunday, and he died at a hospital a short time later. Police identified the victim as Mackeon Schulte, the Billings Gazette reported.
Schulte and another boy were spending the night together and showed up at their friend's house about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a statement by Billings Police Chief Rich St. John released Monday.
The two knocked on their friend's window and threw pebbles in an attempt to wake him, St. John said.
"When their friend awoke, he was startled by the noise and saw faces outside the window," St. John's statement said. "He didn't know who they were and was scared."
Mackeon Schulte
The boy grabbed a gun that was in the bedroom and fired through the window, striking Schulte in the head, the statement said. The second boy outside the window was not hurt.
Police were withholding the names and ages of the shooter and the uninjured friend because they are juveniles and no arrests have been made.
Police tape blocked the small, one-story home on Alderson Avenue after the shooting. Investigators were hampered by a steady rain that fell on the scene.
Authorities were meeting with prosecutors to determine how to proceed and whether to rule the death a homicide. Schulte's family will meet with authorities before a decision is made on whether to file charges, the Gazette reported.
Schulte was a sophomore at Billings Senior High School.
"This is a huge tragedy for Senior High and the district," Superintendent Terry Bouck told the newspaper. "We're just doing the best we can to make sure everyone is OK throughout this situation."
